Being present...

I am so caught in the thought of being present today!  There are so many events going on in the world, in the lives of friends and family....being present seems so relevant today!

What strikes me is "being present", what does it really mean?  Images that come to mind are not letting your thoughts run wild, not thinking of 1500 things to do in the next few moments, sitting in a peaceful pose with a smile upon my face.  but, the ever present question always returns to me...how do I do this?  I have found the key to being present for me is to focus my thoughts on the things for which I am grateful, handling what comes up in the moment, setting to complete a task and finishing it with my total attention on the task and completing it well, and returning to the things for which I am grateful.  The best way for me to practice is to do this as I walk with my dog on a long trail at the Dunes.  It sounds something like this, "What beautiful flowers....I'd forgotten how lovely this tree is as it comes back to life in the spring...'Don't chase the squirrel, Ginta, it's one of ours'...wow!  Look at the pond as it begins to spring forth with life again...oops!  Look out where you step!  'Father, bless the one who didn't take time to clean that up!'...Smell the beautiful, fresh air..." and so forth until it becomes my new habit of being present in all moments!
Take time to be present with you today!  It will invigorate your socks off!
Namaste!

Clarity and Vision!

Each day when we awaken, we are given the miracle of a brand new day.  How do you choose to move into it?  Are you clear in the direction of your goals?  Do you have the vision to see through the rain to the beauty of nature coming back to life?  There are amazing things happening while we bemoan the weather we have had lately!  Dare to be different!  Dare to be unique!  Dare to be the one who can clearly see through the storms of life, follow your own path, and celebrate the miracle of life!  It's all your choice!  Live today as you have never lived before!!

Be blessed!

Thoughts...

Today I awoke thinking about thoughts! I know it sounds crazy, but what causes that sticking point in your life--at work, with your kids, with your significant other, with your success...It always comes back to your thoughts!  Think about it...when you get dressed in the morning in your favorite outfit and you are feeling great, suddenly a thought strikes you and you move from feeling good about yourself to the negatives--I'm too fat, I'm too skinny, I'm too me, etc, etc, etc...Why?  St. Paul says that we need to "take each thought captive", that we need to think on all that is "good, noble, true..." and yet, we let our minds take over and we begin to wallow in self-pity, self-deprecation...This is not what we were created for!
In the Toltec wisdom, the first agreement is to "Be impeccable with your word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love."  This means its for the building up of yourself and others.....easy to do it for others...quite the challenge to do it for ourselves...
Today, I challenge you to take your thoughts captive!  When you start to think a negative, berating thought about yourself, stop and simply say, "I am an amazing creation with a wonderful task to complete while here on this earth! I have been empowered with all the things necessary to do this--I am good enough....I am enough...I am loved....I am whole...."  Let me know how this works!!
In utmost love and truth,
Krystal

A joy-filled day!

On this glorious morning, when the sun is shining, it is so easy to feel the joy and excitement of the coming Spring!  What is every day, rain or shine, you could feel that same joy!  We were created to be joy-filled!!  Tommy Newbury says, "Being joy filled does not mean that your life is perfect...it does mean that you emphatically trust God and believe that he has great plans for your life, regardless of what is happening right now.."  So, if I read that correctly, joy directly corresponds to my level of trust, that all that happens is for my best...all things in this moment are best...he is in control...I trust that!  No need for worry or fear or any of those emotions that bring me to a low level!  My QiGong teacher, Kathy, helped me see that nothing is bad...it is all there for a lesson.  Yesterday, she challenged me to see everything as best!  This is for my best lesson...this is for me to give the very best that I have to give in this moment...every decision is the best given the information I have at this time... Thought provoking!
Today, I challenge you to trust completely....to view everything that comes your way as a life lesson in action...everything for the best....everything for creating a better place within you and all around you!
Create an incredibly joy-filled day!

Update!!

I have been offline these past several days trying to wrap up the old job and begin to really more myself into this new work!  I am totally stoked and ready to go!!  Five appointments this week and next week is beginning to fill up, too!!!  WOW!!!  The message I keep hearing in my life these past few days has been love like crazy, stay focused on your dream, and watch the miracles flow!!

The greatest joy is hearing that someone has had a breakthrough and when you have them, too....Losing someone, a parent, a loved one, a significant other is so hard..and yet, when viewed with absolute and unconditional love can be so incredibly healing...We can grow when we choose to grow...

It's all about choice once again....

Staying focused when you aren't feeling well!

The last few days I have really not felt well!  Could be the emotions of leaving my current job to begin my business or the bug floating through the office.  It brought the question though....what a great time to learn!  How do I stay focused on my goal when I am not feeling 100%?

The reason for a coach is pure and simple....they are the person on the sideline of your life to help you see which play is best, when you cannot see it for yourself.  So, when this question arose and I couldn't shake it, I went to my wonderful coach--Coach Charrise.  Her answers always come so simply and so beautifully.  She said, "Just be where you are today..."  Simple, gentle wisdom...so profound in its simplicity...and so right on target!

Mind shifts!

In Steve Chandler's book Powerful, Graceful Success, he writes:

Every shift you make, your mind opens and you see
more possibility. Soon you’re seeing more opportunity, and
you have more energy and freedom. Because every shift
you make you drop your old story—the story about how
ineffective you thought you were.

The story about who you thought you were—your belief
systems about your helpless and hopeless areas of life, is
simply not true. You have power way beyond what you
acknowledge during the day.

Steve constantly talks about mind shifts.  These are the places where you realize that how you respond to things going on around you or people in your lives is actually something you can control.  You control it by how you think about it.

We have 1000's of thoughts that either drift or race through our mind in the course of day based on the impressions and perceptions our amazing brain makes.  Those will then, if dwelt upon for any length of time, cause us to "feel" something or develop an emotion about.  If those are all positive things we label as "good", we are in great shape.  But, if they are negative and we label them as "bad" and dwell on them long enough, we can turn our day into a downward spiral!  The key is the labeling of the event and then the dwelling on it!  You have a choice!  You can decide how you will judge it or label it and how long you will let it live in your brain.  That is free will....free choice.....your decision....

When we determine something as good, the endorphins flow and we either rise to a happy state or remain there.  When we determine something as bad...Why judge it?  How many of the "bad" things in your life have really led you to the next great place?  What if rather than labeling it as bad, you decided to look for the lesson in it, take hold of the lesson, and build something beautiful from it?  You can do just that...it requires you to stop reacting to every situation which comes your way.  Instead, stop.  Take a deep breath.  Redirect the thought.  Create a response, rather than a reaction.  This is grabbing hold of your moments and creating a beautiful new life and new you....

Happy mind shifting!

Michael Neill is one of my favorite Super Coaches who sends daily tips for coaches.  Today, he discusses the "Paradise Syndrome".  He talks about people who become successful and have no clue how they got there or who cannot possibly think of getting there, because they cannot see a way...

In all of Michael's writing and the writings of Steve Chandler, the constantly talk about taking ownership of your life, your success, and your happiness.  It is there for you.  Frequently, we feel we can't possibly do something, because someone or something will keep us from achieving it.  Or, we do achieve and something or someone comes along who "takes it all away".  This attributing the receiving or loss of something to a force outside ourselves is a "victim" mentality.  The more we get caught in this kind of thinking or the more we speak this kind of thinking, the more we relinquish the ability to go above and beyond and create more than we ever dreamed possible!  The key to success is to take ownership.  If a thought comes through my mind and I think, "Wow...that's just so sad!"  And, I continue to dwell on it, pretty soon, I will be wallowing inn the depths of despair.  But, if I have a sad thought go through and I think, "Wow....that's sad..." But, then, I take control and begin to think of all the ways to make it better, I have raised it to the higher plain of creativity....and that is where we can begin to take action and truly change, not only our lives, but other lives around us!

Here are Michael Neill's three quick remedies to take ownership of your own success...
1. Think about what you're really proud of
The things we are most proud of in our lives are rarely the things others would expect. If I need a quick burst of self-esteem, I don't reflect on my various TV appearances, my home, or even my family, but on a stone wall I built in my parents driveway when I was 15. Every time I think about that wall, I know I am capable of building great things out of rubble.
2. Don't settle for excellence
Too often we stop experimenting when we start succeeding, guiding our lives by the age old mantra "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." But when we really dig into what causes us to succeed, we find again and again that it is our willingness challenge and go beyond the status quo. In the words of author Robert Kriegel, "Sacred cows make the best burgers"!
3. Live a worthwhile life, whatever that means to you
"If you have built your castles in the air, your work need not be lost.
That is where they should be. Now, put the foundations under them."

--Henry David Thoreau
There is a story of a man who felt he got to heaven too easily, so he decided not to go in. Instead, he stands outside, holding the gates open until every living being has the opportunity to pass through them.
In the end, I believe the cure for "Paradise Syndrome" is quite simple - either create enough mini-crises and dramas in your life to distract your worrying mind, or do whatever it is you need to do to feel like you ARE worthy of all the good things life has to offer.
While you don't have to wait until you're successful to begin contributing to the world around you, it's never too late to begin. Use your wealth to promote a cause you believe in. Use the talents and skills that enabled your success to assist others in creating their own. Get involved in something (anything) that feels worthwhile, meaningful, purposeful, or contributory, and notice how quickly your 'good fortune' becomes something to celebrate and share, not denigrate and hide.
Have fun, learn heaps, and if you got to the top too easily, do something besides admire the view!
Michael

Have a super day!  Get out there and start creating a better world--for yourself and for others!

Thought for today....

There is so much there for you, once you open yourself to it and begin to work consciously on levels higher than that of Earth.

It's all a manifestation of love. Love is the matrix that makes it all possible. The energy of Spirit is the essence.

- John-Roger

(From: Fulfilling Your Spiritual Promise, p. 42)

I read this early today and loved it, but wondered what it was bringing my way...Then it hit me!  Last night I had a phone call from a very dear friend, encouraging me and sharing some of his success with me.  Earlier in the day yesterday, I met with another dear friend who had suffered a stroke just a few short months ago, but who is recovering so wonderfully...she wants to help me work on my business!  Then, this morning a couple asked my family out for brunch...they, too, offered their love and support.  Sister Sarah then called this evening and she, too, is standing there with her beautiful smile offering assistance....All people who are so amazingly wonderful and special to me and who have been there in ways they may not even know.  And all of it is "a manifestation of love..."  "There is so much there for you..."  Dear ones, open yourselves up to the highest levels of love, joy, excitement, and wonder at the beauty and miracle of your life...there it is waiting to come right back to you in great bounty!!

Much love and peace to you!

It is time to move into our New AmazingYear!

Let’s make it happen!
So what have you decided?
What are you excited about in your life right now?
What are you grateful about in your life right now?
What are you committed to in your life right now?
What are you no longer prepared to accept in your life?
and
How can I help you to achieve some goals this year?
Take a moment and jot down all the things you are worried about...we will address them one by one.  They need to be leveled up to concerns vs. worries, so we can create action steps to address each situation...
Love ya tons and looking forward to the Best Year Ever!!
Krysta;

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! HAPPY NEW YOU!!

Every day, in every way, you are enough.

Even though you may have habits you'd like to change, physical features you don't like, or a mind that wanders when you want it to stay focused, who you really are shines forward more brightly than any judgments you hold against yourself.

Have the courage to be you. Create enough love to accept every part of yourself. And as you give these gifts to yourself, the more you will receive.

- John-Roger with Paul Kaye

This quote comes from the MSIA website (www.msia.org).  Its a different view of spirituality and there are some days I just delete things, because it is still difficult for me to wade through~~and this is okay. I give you the reference in the event that something in what you read from it helps you get to the best you ever!!  Steve Chandler frequently quotes many resources for the same reason.  And, my amazing coach, Coach Charrise, is constantly providing me with the most amazing resources....all for us to grow to our next best place!

As we begin this New Year and our New You....what's it going to be for you?  For me, it's stepping away from a regular job and working in my growing coaching practice, watching my 18-year-old prepare to "leave the nest" while still struggling with the loss of her father, helping my 12-year-old avoid the traps of thinking she is different instead of being fearless, and watching as my 15-year-old continues his growth as a young man. I haven't mentioned that I also have my 75- and 77-year-old parents living me, as they face the adventures of their "Golden Years"!  Through this, the key for me for this new year has to be steeped in the KISS principle~~Keep It Simple, Sweetie!  This means cleaning out my closets, organizing my bookshelves, and sticking to a focused, intentional plan of action to achieve the goals I have set for myself for this New Year and New You (ME!).

Later today, I will post more tips and tools for setting your focused, intentional goals and using some tried and true strategies to get there...

Until then, seek truth in your life and thoroughly enjoy the adventures this life brings you....good and bad...

Wonderful words from Michael Neill with action steps for you!

Tolerations

-

(I first came across the word "toleration" in the writings of Thomas Leonard, founder of "Coach University", one of the largest coach training organisations in America. Check out Coach Universityfor more information).
About a year ago, I was being interviewed for a never-published article on life coaching in Men's Health magazine. For part of the interview, they set up three "clients" for me to work with, and in an attempt at "fairness", they chose one person who loved the idea of coaching, one who was a bit curious, and one who thought it sounded stupid.

As you might expect, the first two guys loved their sessions and got a lot out of them. What was a great lesson for me was what happened with the one who thought the whole idea of coaching was stupid. When I asked him why he had agreed to participate in something as "stupid" as a coaching session, he said he had responded to an ad looking for people who were discontented with their lives, and almost dropped out when he found out what it was about.

Twenty five of the longest minutes in my life later and I was almost ready to recant on my famous dictum "there's no such thing as a resistant client, only an inflexible coach"! Having failed utterly in getting him to set an agenda for the session let alone a goal for what he wanted in his life, and feeling my own frustration beginning to get the better of me, I asked him somewhat pointedly "what annoys you most about your life?"

Suddenly my monosyllabic friend turned eloquent, and over the course of the rest of the session, we made a list of 67 seperate things that annoyed him about his life, ranging from the political situation in the middle east to his job to the missing button on his denim shirt.

I explained that everything in our lives we tolerate without embracing drained energy from us, and one of the best ways to free up energy and get clear on what really matters to us in life was to either embrace the items on his list or where possible, eliminate them from his life. After going back through the list and crossing out anything that was outside of his circle of control (i.e. the political situation in the middle east, the fact that life coaching exists as a profession, etc.), we were left with around 40 "tolerations" - things in his life that he was frustrated by but for whatever reason, did nothing about.

We finished our session by setting him the task of eliminating at least five of the items on his list within the next week. A month later, I asked the journalist if she had heard from him again. To my amusement and delight, he still thought life coaching was a crock, but had left his job, gone back to school to re-train as a teacher, and was in a great new relationship!

Today's Experiment (approx time - 5 minutes):1. Make a list of as many things in your life as you can think of that you are "putting up with" and/or that annoy you.

2. Go back through the list and cross out those things that are outside of your control.

3. What you now have is a list of your "tolerations" - the secret and not so secret energy drains that stand between you and the life of your dreams.

4. Set yourself an achievable target for eliminating these tolerations from your life. Some people like to try and get rid of the whole list in a week; others prefer to get rid of one a day for as long as it takes. Work at a speed that is comfortable and enjoyable for you!

Bonus Tips:
a. Don't be surprised if your list gets longer rather than shorter over the next few days. Your life's not getting worse, you're just becoming more aware.

b. Consider setting up a "tolerations" fund - a small sum of money put aside for the sole purpose of eliminating tolerations, whether it's by paying someone to iron your clothes, finally fixing that dented fender, or upgrading to a modem that can surf the internet at speeds in excess of 2.4kpbs.

c. If you find yourself unable or unwilling to eliminate something from your life, consider embracing it. Read The Five Rules for Happiness for more on this idea.

Have fun, learn heaps, and eliminate those tolerations!

Thought for today

You're going to be mocked, judged, & criticized in life, especially if you're up to doing something big with your life.~~Sean Stephenson

This is frequently what stops people when they are the verge of a massive breakthrough in their life....it's the fear that they will be judges, mocked, and/or criticized.  Does this stop you? Steve Chandler says that we need to go toward the fear for it has something to teach us....and so it does!  We have to be willing to step out and create in ourselves a place of total sanity and assuredness that no one can permeate.  You were created perfectly for the task you have to do...that task is to brighten and bless your corner of this world.  You do that with great energy and vitality, when you are at peace and in confidence within yourself....

We can explore how to achieve that....email me!

Just tweeted this...

I had to share this video...amazing!

"What if Up-ing!"  Every time you ask yourself "What if...", turn it around from the negative to the positive!

A note from Steve Chandler!

One of the things I receive daily is a note from clubfearless.net.  Steve Chandler is an amazing coach who has the ability to bring things into their simplest form!  This was the message i received yesterday and felt that it was a good one for beginning the new year....

Part of the joy of a highly energetic life is the ability to respond rapidly! That's TRUE responsibility. Not putting anything off.

Responsibility has gotten a bad name. We associate it with guilt and blame. But responsibility is magnificent if it's thought about with a high level of consciousness. Responsibility is powerful when thought of in its positive sense. It is the ability to choose our responses. It's our response skill; our "response ability."

When you learn to take full responsibility for setting a goal, you'll reach it in no time. When you learn to totally own a problem, the problem doesn't stand a chance. But because we're so afraid of the negative side of responsibility, we miss out on the sheer joy of cultivating rapid response time.

Let's make 2011 a year in which we respond to opportunity,

Steve

Carpe Diem!  Sieze this day....live it moment by moment enjoying everyone with whom you come in contact and ask yourself, "What am I to learn in this?"

Have a day filled with miracles and blessings!

How it works...

So, to give everyone new to life coaching as idea of how it works, I thought I would share the results I got back this past week.  I saw a man I have been working with for a few months just the other day.  He looked so refreshed and invigorated!  He had renewed energy and was so much happier than I have seen him in awhile… Of course, my first reaction was WOW!  He said he had finally decided to really put some things we had discussed in action.  Although he did not get the response from the people that he wanted and expected, he was able to easily accept the truth in their responses without throwing himself into a tailspin over it….

Another woman reports that she and her husband have made it joyfully through the holidays by her fearlessly being truthful.  Again, we worked on specific strategies which would help her do this….all of her own design…we just coached the right “plays” out of her!

These are just a few of the success stories!  Coaching is truly a situation in which the coach works with you for you to define your strengths and weaknesses.  Once these are defined, we then create plays or strategies to help you reach your very, very best!  It is an awesome partnership and a life-changing experience!
